Where did June go??

I can’t believe it’s July already…

June was such a whirlwind! First of all, my class at Golden Gate School of Professional Photography went really well! Thanks to all my students for bringing their positive energy and creative ideas to the class! Eliot Khuner wrote me the nicest compliment:
You created a wonderful atmosphere in the GGS class, and clearly the students responded. You presented information at all levels, so that all students, including me, could get something out of it. You kept story-telling to a minimum, which allowed you to present more material, which I think is part of being a professional teacher.

When I first wanted to become a wedding photographer, I remember sitting on the floor in Rizzoli’s bookstore in Downtown San Francisco, and came across a book about wedding photography with Eliot’s photos in it… Such an honor to receive a compliment like that from him!

The other great thing about GGS was connecting with old friends (big hugs to all my favorite peeps… you know who you are!) and meeting new ones! It was great to see Andre Costantini butterfly whisperer, songwriter and oh-yeah great photographer, and meet Juli Cialone (who hails from Rochester, NY where I am originally from… and is a crazy blast to hang with!!!), and my good friend Paul Gero taught the wedding class… and my new best friends, Jennifer Wilson and Lisa Maksoudian taught the children’s photography class, and photographed Josh too!!! It was great to be at GGS for my fifth year, but really the best feeling to be on the faculty this year! My class was such a success, it has already been added to the roster for next year. I am very proud!

The other thing that happened in June was that Cottage Industry was officially launched! The products for busy photographers received rave reviews and record sales at the tradeshow! The website is a work in progress, so be checking back to see what’s new!!
