I love being a wedding photographer, especially when I get to see the window into a couple’s personality by the creative touches they put into their wedding details! I also love when my dear friendtographer, Jacki V comes to town because we have been shooting together for 8 years, and its really like a highly sophisticated synchronized swimming routine minus all the water… I totally love shooting a Clos la Chance Wedding too… The views are breathtaking, and Michele is one of the best venue coordinators in the business!

First wedding of 2010, and what a day it was! We kept having to remind ourselves that it was January! Beautiful sunny skies with white puffy clouds, temps in the 60’s, and a beautiful wedding venue, The Silverado Country Club! Got to shoot with my dear friend, Jill Doherty, whose work you’ll find featured on the cover of their wedding information brochure (way to go Jill!) Just as I promised in my blog post about film for wedding photography, I brought along my Holga, and took some shots of the bride’s beautiful dress… It’s hard to ration myself to one or two shots per photo shoot…
The stunning bride Io was absolutely sweet and wonderful, and the strong love between her and Tim kept us all warm and fuzzy! Her impeccable taste was evident in every wedding detail, and when Jill pulled the wrapping off her wedding gown we both gasped… WOW – there could have been no more perfect dress for this lovely lady! Thanks to Jill for having me along, and all the best wishes for only happiness in the future for Io and Tim!

On Saturday I had the great pleasure of second shooting a San Francisco Clift Hotel wedding with my amazing “friendtographer” Shannon Stellmacher! Shannon’s clients chose one of the finest San Francisco venues for their intimate wedding, The Clift Hotel, which is my opinion one of the grand dames of old San Francisco style, but with a fresh, funky interior that made it perfect for such a fashion forward couple! From the mirrors and stairways everywhere, to the cool lavender painted walls, to the incredible collection of funky furniture in the lobby, I didn’t know what to point my lens at next! Thanks for such a great day Shan!!! Enjoy!

Had a couple more images to add…
Nestldown Weddings are just pure magic… I adore the small gauge railroad, the fantasy garden, the tremendous natural chapel in the redwoods, the London black taxi, and the staff and service is unrivaled! If you are looking for a place to celebrate your wedding and beautiful California natural surroundings, you should check out this amazing property!

Can’t believe I am getting a blog post up so quickly, but we were done early, and these favorites totally stood out!! Photographed Serena & Tim’s swanky downtown San Francisco wedding with my friend, Alexis, of AC Image. This lovely couple was a “perfect pair” and beautiful orchids and pears were themed throughout their beautiful day. So amazing to be back at the Carnelian Room which has the best view of my City by the Bay, the magic place I call home, San Francisco!! 52 floors up on a clear day, and I did think I could see forever! Sweeping views of the Transamerica Pyramid, Coit Tower, Alcatraz, Sts. Peter and Paul – I never get tired of seeing these picture-postcards! Congratulations to Serena & Tim, and many happy years together!
Blessings, Kim
The ghost-like figures on the top of the building in the yellow taxi image are often referred to as “the goddesses” or the “Corporate Goddesses,” and are the work of the very interesting sculptor Muriel Castanis. A few weeks ago while celebrating a friend’s birthday in San Francisco, we saw this building from the other side, and wondered what the story was with these ethereal figures… There are several of them that go all around the building, and I am glad I now know more about the story.

I am so excited to share the whole coverage of wedding images from Terry & Marc’s wedding with them. It is a really awesome coverage thanks to a really fun couple AND my terrific associate photographer, Joerg Lehmann. We were both having a great time being creative with the elements of the wedding day and with Terry, Marc and their friends! The Hotel Sainte Claire in downtown San Jose was such an amazing backdrop, especially for the romantic portraits of Terry & Marc.
