I had so much fun running around San Francisco today in search of great places to photograph Annie’s beautiful belly! The first place we stopped is right around the mountain from my house, and I love the stone stairs! Annie was such a good sport in dealing with our frigid San Francisco chill… Her jacket was really gorgeous! Speaking of gorgeous, her hair and makeup was done by Jenni Huse of the Powder Room, who traveled down with Amy of Oaks & Acorns for the photoshoot! So what do you get when you take 3 photographers (one of them with a baby on the way!) and a great make up artist? You get a really great morning/afternoon of hip, modern maternity photos, not to mention a fantastic lunch at Luna Park after we finished! Their coconut cream pie is legendary… drool…

Well, yesterday’s wedding was awesome for me… I was the associate photographer for Shannon Stellmacher Photography. The couple married in the Sonoma Mission courtyard under the olive trees, and their reception was about 20 feet from where ours was… It was such an amazing feeling to see a wedding in the same venue look so different, and yet so familar. The bride was lovely, very much like Grace Kelly, and the love between them is the stuff legends are made of!!

Details, details… I also love getting the chance to photograph the details of a wedding in an interesting way. I have always admired one of my colleagues, Jill, who manages to get amazing reflection shots, so this one’s for you!

People always ask me “Why Mill Cottage Photography?” and they want to know the story of why I named my studio after the Mill Cottage. So, here’s the story… get your cup of tea, snuggle in on a comfy pillow :^)

Once upon a time… (just kidding)

My then boyfriend of two years, Ray, and I were looking for a place to spend a week for a little R&R. We had driven past the Jenner Inn several times, and thought maybe we should check it out. We wanted our own kitchen so we could cook together, and this was the cottage that was available for the dates that we wanted. It was fate. When we arrived, we found this little stairway to heaven…
