The last wedding of 2010 has been posted, the last session of 2010 has been shot backed up and almost processed, and it’s time to spend the holidays with my own family! Thanks to each and every one of you who gave me the honor this year of photographing your families and precious events! I am so thankful each day to have met you all, and for my 2011 clients, I am really looking forward to each of your events as well! Here’s the (amazing value) deal… Just $95 for a mini-session, which is about 30 minutes long and a $200 savings from our usual full session fee! If you need a session on the weekend, then there is a minimum order fee of an additional $200, which is credited back to you for your order. I truly had hoped to have time to schedule some mini-sessions for the holidays, but weddings and regular portrait sessions kept me hopping until the bitter end… I will be organizing a spring open house instead, so we’ll be all ready for Mother’s Day! Thanks for understanding! My Little Pumpkin...

I love to photograph children in a pumpkin patch! The candid style with the colorful background is always a favorite… Doesn’t hurt that Fall is my absolutely favorite season! The crisp snap in the air, the bright blue sky, and pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere!! Here’s two… same patch, same kid, 2 years different… my baby is growing up so fast! Ahhhh…. love that face!

Holiday Family – Rocky Video

Nope, we’re not talking Sly Stallone here… my mom used to sing the Rocky Chair song to us when we were little… Josh was rocking her in the rocky chair, and we sang it to him. Lo and behold – on Christmas morning, when he opened his present, this adorable rocking dinosaur, he sang it to us!!! Mom and I cried with joy… my little guy is so smart, and he’s chattering in sentences now!

Family Holiday Portraits – An amazing gift…

My wonderful friend Joe, who I have known for around 20 years, sent Josh something amazing… First of all, the gift wrap was a thing of beauty… it made the rest of the gifts green with envy. Then Josh opened it. Seriously… the. coolest gift. ever. These blocks so amazing, so unique, so creative. I wondered where in the world he got them… then my mom said, “hey, doesn’t that one say ‘Josh Sayre’ on it?” The wheels in my mind start cranking… I call Joe, thank him, wish him a Merry Christmas, and then I say, “Did you make these?????” and he says, “Yes!” I am completely blown away at that moment, and barely able to speak (VERY unusual for me – LOL) and I start to cry. What an amazing gift from Uncle Joe… My friend, I can’t even say how much this means to me, um I mean Josh… You are so awesome!

Holiday Family Studio Portraits – One of our Website Contest Winners!

So excited to have this gorgeous family in the studio! Avid blog readers, they immediately knew the answer to the Partridge Family Trivia question and they earned their free session!!! Lucky we did the session that day, as daddy hurt himself doing yard work (that’s why I leave my yard like a jungle…) and had to go to the hospital. Luckily no major damage, and he’ll recover well! Healing thought go out to you, and here’s another custom card example too!

New Year, New Blog!

Happy New Year!! We have been so busy through the holiday season, and now are enjoying a welcome break! Meeting with new couples about their wedding plans and photographing new babies fill most of the days that I am not hanging out with Josh.

Josh is 10.5 months old, and is growing like a weed! He has his own website!

Speaking of websites, Mill Cottage Photography finally received a much needed update to include some new images from last year! These are a few of my favorites, and there will be more to come! Stay tuned to the blog and the website to see our exciting new portrait products.
