I love October weddings!! The beautiful warm fall colors, interesting flowers, and when I have a wedding on Halloween weekend, it’s double the fun with costumes and fun stuff that my creative and fashionable couples come up with!!! We did our signature photo booth station at Betsy & Jared’s wedding reception held at the Matrix Fillmore… styled by the incredibly wonderful and glittery genius, Carrie D. Mader, without whom these booths would never be as cool! I will blog more images from the wedding later on, so be sure to check back, or like us on facebook to be notified when they are up! Fashion and Event Photography | Renegades take downtown Oakland

No matter what, you just can’t keep me down for long… a trip to the ER for some serious bronchitis, some great medication, and a will to photograph interesting things won out last week as I was able to be one of the two main shooters for this fantastic Renegade event in Downtown Oakland! My good friend Joerg Lehmann and I pulled off a crazy shoot with the invaluable help, coordination and planning of Renegade founder and PR maven Martha Blanchfield! Martha and I pulled in models, Joerg masterfully set up two different lighting sets in a vacant shop front on the corner of Franklin and 14th street downtown, and costume designer Bbeauty Designs debuted some brand new costumes that were out of this world. Big thanks for the Renegades for featuring me, and to the models and designers for helping me make some magic!

One of the things that makes a birthday party, and thus the birthday party ph0tography, so much fun is the activities provided for the children who attend! I know when I go about planning the next birthday party for MY son, Josh, the only website I will visit is California Puppets planning site for Bay Area kids birthday parties! Not only will you see puppet show ventriloquist extraordinaire, Jungle Joe, but there is a plethora of amazing tips and ideas for making your child’s event a huge success! It is a really great resource, especially for first time parents, who have no idea where to start and what to do! Mill Cottage Kids has a great bunch of party ideas, so make sure all your lovely party plans get the photographs they deserve so you and your tot can look back on the occasion for years to come!

Professional Photographer’s Conference – Imaging USA, Nashville here I come!!

Tomorrow this time I will be on my way to chilly Nashville (aka NashVegas) for the professional photographers of America’s Annual conference, Imaging USA! So great to attend these photography conferences where I get to network with my friends in the photography business from all over the world, see new and exciting products offered by the top vendors that I can bring home to my clients, and being inspired by tons of wedding and portrait photography – winning awards and on display! It really is a great way to start off the new year!

Had such a blast covering an event for my pal, Amy, of Oaks & Acorns… Some of her old peeps from Lucas Arts got together for a big ol’ party Hollywood style to celebrate Julie & Bobby’s marriage with friends and family! Killer venue, 111 Minna Gallery, great artwork, great music, great vibe… cupcakes by Jen’s Cakes (a personal favorite…) and a whole lot of glamour on the red carpet… Here are the stars themselves: Congratulations Julie & Bobby, and it was just great to share your evening!

Early last month, I had a booth at a really fun festival in Mill Valley called Babes & Babies by Appel & Frank. I was lucky I had to work, or I would have gone nuts shopping… So many cute vendors with clothing, strollers, decor ideas, and of course glamorous bellies and babies galore! Special thanks to my friend and awesome event coordinator, Amy, of Oaks & Acorns, for photographing the event, and for coordinating our drawing for the free session (more news about this after Thanksgiving)

San Francisco Event Photography – EcoChic

Last night was a fun evening… I was hired to photograph one of San Francisco’s greenest events, EcoChic. It’s all about green and all about chic, and the vendors had really cool wares for sale… I’ll post more images later, but this is one of my favorites… it has such a vintage feeling about it!

After that I got to judge image awards at the photography association, and hang out with some fellow PPGBA friends and Mercury Megaloudis, Australia’s Photographer of the Year, and really fun party animal. Today I attended his seminar that we hosted in San Francisco, and despite being a bit ragged from the night before, I am renewed and inspired!
