Holiday Portraits - Josh in the woods
I truly had hoped to have time to schedule some mini-sessions for the holidays, but weddings and regular portrait sessions kept me hopping until the bitter end… I will be organizing a spring open house instead, so we’ll be all ready for Mother’s Day! Thanks for understanding! I do have a couple of openings for some regular sessions during the next couple of weeks, so call if you have some extended family in town for the holidays, and want to capture those special relationships… Hope all of you have a wonderful holiday season, and an amazing new year in 2010!

Smiling, Happy Boy!
Special thanks to “Uncle” Mitch for giving Josh his first flying machine today! Daddy and Josh took the plane out for a spin, and crashed a lot to Josh’s giggly delight! Daddy giggled too… :^)

My Little Pumpkin...
I love to photograph children in a pumpkin patch! The candid style with the colorful background is always a favorite… Doesn’t hurt that Fall is my absolutely favorite season! The crisp snap in the air, the bright blue sky, and pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere!! Here’s two… same patch, same kid, 2 years different… my baby is growing up so fast! Ahhhh…. love that face!

Yummy Ice Cream From Cold Stone Creamery
Whew, it’s been a hot time in the City this summer… we have had numerous days that we could play in the backyard, which in the 10 years we have lived in this house in the fog, have been a rarity until the past year or so… what does that say about global warming?? I digress… Josh and I had to take a trip to Cold Stone Creamery where we had a wonderful treat for our tastebuds… Jello pudding ice cream. OMG. so good. Josh just had the basics… “gramilla” (his word for Vanilla) and m&m’s… He seriously enjoyed it! Here’s a cute image…
So excited that 7/11 has finally arrived! Kit & Ginny, and their wedding coordinator, Chris Flitter have been a dream to work with from the very beginning! In a couple of hours I’ll be headed up to Calistoga to the beautiful Hans Fahden Vineyards! Here’s a spread from their really cool guest book I designed for them with their engagement pictures! Sure to be a hit!! Of course, check back for more images from the wedding in their “sneak peek!!”

Engagement photos in a guest book
Really looking forward to Rachel and Jesse’s wedding at the end of July! We got up early and it was worth it for the beautiful light in the woods! I am really looking forward to designing their
custom wedding guest book, and can’t wait to share all the images with them! You guys were so much fun!!

Here’s some more images from my class at Golden Gate School! I was trying to rest up and kick this cold, but I just couldn’t help myself!!!!
Thanks again to the models, GGS staff (Katie & Leland, you guys were great!) and especially my students for making this a great week!
hugs,
Kim

Since so many of my friends and family follow my blog to get updates on the Josh-meister, I do feel the need to post lots of images of him, especially since at this age, he seems to be changing so much every week! On Friday when Jill and I took our photo safari in the zoo, we came across this field of dandelions, and gasped. We gasped again as we saw this adorable blonde little girl go skipping through it in a cute dress and the most darling brown suede Uggs… I skipped myself over to her momma, handed her a card so she wouldn’t think I was some kind of weirdo, and asked if we could take her picture. We got some cute stuff which I’ll share after I get permission from momma to post them here. I kept wishing that Josh was there because I could totally picture an image like this… well, since we go to the zoo what feels like several times a week, my wish was granted yesterday! Here’s my boy in the dandelions… Happy Easter!

Speaking of trusty associates, Jill and I made a date last Friday to have lunch and go photograph some stuff just for fun! She has a wedding coming up at the San Francisco Zoo, and my avid blog readers know how I love the zoo… So we walked around, met some really nice people, and saw an 8 day old baby giraffe (oh how I love the giraffes…) We tried to think of a challenge, and late in the day we came up with the idea of photographing each other in a dandelion field with some interesting lighting challenges… Here’s my two favorites of Miss Jill…. and she just emailed me one of me, which I love! I’d say we passed our challenge with flying colors.

Michelle and Steve got married 5 years ago (where has the time gone???) and we were pregnant with our sons at exactly the same time – due just a day apart. We always love it when we get to see Michelle and Connor, and Josh kept asking for his friend all evening! Here’s Connor on the big Tortoise!!

Ahhh… the mustard, and my little red head… not perfect lighting, but still worth the stop, and worth falling in a ditch… Ouch!! Two thoughts went through my head… Save Josh, and Save the new camera (yes, in that order…)

Always when I get a new piece of equipment I always test it thoroughly before I trust it and put it to work for my clients… I just purchased the phenomenal new 5D Mark II for this years main camera, and I am completely thrilled with its performance in my tests, and am excited to use it this year!
Here’s Josh in one of my tests… patient child… lucky me!

Josh is hardcore into his zoo phase, so off we went again today (better than the last time we went on his birthday in the pouring rain, for sure!!) We ran into my old friend Jennifer and her two kiddos, and it was nice to catch up! The kids have gotten so big… I photographed them each when they were babies… Here’s a couple of shots from today! See if you can spot the baby penguin…
I have the distinct privelege to be close friends with 3 women whom I think are the most talented and vibrant friends and photographers I know… We formed a networking group a few years ago, and meet monthly to challenge each other, work on business ideas, and find ways to give back to the community. This past year has been quite a personal metamorphasis for two of these women, and I am so proud of them for their diligent efforts and quest for finding their true selves. Today we paid tribute to them, and photographed them in Alameda, and I must say, it’s a thrill to post these images! Hats off ladies!! I love you all, and cherish the time we spend together!
I was going through some old files, and came across this one… little boys always need to know what’s on the other side of the fence…
A friend and I were talking about old cameras today, and I thought this image was a good candidate for a Holga treatment…
My almost-two-year-old is such a whirling dervish, and this image captures it precisely!
Just processed this one from Tiffany’s session… Enjoy!
I have been photographing the Kemsley-Bennett Family for many years, and was so glad to see them again this year. This time Bill’s mother, brother and sister-in-law, and their daughter joined us. We had a terrific time running around the park, and it was great to see how the kids have grown!! Here are some of my favorites for you guys!!
